Module Description: 

Designing Accessible Online Experiences for Deaf People is a one-hour self-paced module that provides an overview of essential considerations for preparing accessible online engagements and experiences for deaf people. Learners will increase their knowledge and awareness of the fundamentals of universal design as it applies to deaf individuals' experiences, how to plan for accommodations for online learning and other virtual experiences,  and essential considerations for implementing inclusive practices to reduce barriers during online engagements.

 

 

Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:

    • Describe some considerations of Universal Design applications in online learning for deaf people.

    • Describe at least 2 features of accessible virtual learning environments.

    • Formulate 2-3 universal designs or inclusive practices for creating equitable learning opportunities for all students.
