Module Description:

Introduction to Remote Accessibility Services is a one-hour self-paced module that provides an overview of fundamental concepts for understanding how remote services create accessibility for deaf people in education or training settings. Learners will increase their knowledge and awareness of key concepts including types of remote services available, considerations and standard practices for implementing remote services, and how to provide services to ensure an equitable experience for the deaf person. The information in this module will provide a foundation for future conversations with the student while planning for speech-to-text services.

 

 

Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:

    • Define remote services and considerations for equitable access.

    • List recommended practices for providing access to remote services.

    • Explain strategies for implementing Person Centered Practices within remote services.
